The project was created on the occasion of the artistic residency held in September 2018 in the city of Soliera (MO), promoted by the Campori Foundation and curated by the TerraProject collective.

"Soliera is located in an area that Samantha Azzani knows already.

Her narration therefore takes place as if on a journey through landscapes that are familiar to her: she encounters nature, and the farmhouses, observes the leaves and the water, and creates new visions to which she mixes a popular iconography that speaks about miracles.

She gets involved in the persistence of the past and often, in her images, central presences become the element that guides the narrative: a well, a staircase, a shrine with a Madonna, and some corn on the cob.

She constructs a sequence of images that are compared with a dialectical rhythm, thanks to which she places buildings rigorously respected by the use of a documentary language alongside still-lives of leaves, bottles, and everyday objects."
